Miyamoto Shihan

Milan seminar 2026

Aikikai Corsico ASD is pleased to invite you at the international aikido seminar led by Miyamoto Shihan in Milan on April 18th and 19th, 2026 at Palazzetto Verdi, via G. Verdi 2 – Corsico (MI)

Miyamoto Tsuruzo Shihan, 8th Dan, is one of the leading figures at the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, making a brilliant example of rigour and heritage in the international Aikido scene.

Miyamoto sensei's journey in Aikido began at Fukuoka University under the guidance of Suganuma Shihan. Following his graduation, he then decided to completely devote himself to the Way, becoming uchideshi at the Hombu Dojo in Tokyo. Over this crucial period, he could absorb the essence of the art directly from the source, having the privilege to train with and take ukemi for – that is serving as partner – Doshu Kisshomaru Ueshiba and Seigo Yamaguchi Shihan, two figures who deeply shaped his style.

His commitment and mastery were formally recognised in 2016, when he was awarded the rank of 8th Dan Aikikai directly by Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba, confirming his status as a grand master of Aikido.

Miyamoto Shihan is universally recognised for his style, which combines technical accuracy with a strong martial connotation. Although his practice can be seen as a free expression of his mastery, his teaching is methodical and focused on fundamental pillars such as: kihon (fundamentals), ma-ai (timing), henko waza (technique adaptability).

Miyamoto Shihan is a true global ambassador for Aikido, assiduously travelling around the world and holding seminars in Europe, the United States and South America. His presence in Milan is not only an opportunity for Italian aikikokas to directly learn from one of the Hombu Dojo Shihans, but represents also a cultural bridge that strengthens ties within the whole international Aikido community.
